Hanley Ramirez homered, Miguel Cabrera drove in two runs and the Florida Marlins chased emergency starter Chan Ho Park early in a 9-6 victory over the New York Mets on Monday night. Alfredo Amezaga also connected and Josh Willingham had a two-run single during Florida’s five-run rally in the third inning, which started with a [...]

    Phillies 6, Marlins 1 (AP)

Jamie Moyer took a no-hit bid into the seventh inning and combined with two relievers for a four-hitter in the Philadelphia Phillies’ 6-1 win over the Florida Marlins on Sunday. Moyer had faced the minimum 20 batters when Miguel Cabrera broke up the no-hitter with a two-out double in the seventh. The hard liner went [...]

    Marlins 11, Phillies 5 (AP)

Dontrelle Willis won without his best stuff — again. Willis struggled through 6 1-3 innings, Miguel Cabrera had a career-best five hits and Josh Willingham hit a three-run homer in Florida’s 11-5 win over the Philadelphia Phillies on Saturday night. Cabrera was 5-for-5 with four singles and a solo homer.

    Phillies 6, Marlins 5 (AP)

Tom Gordon blew another save for the Philadelphia Phillies. This time, the offense bailed him out. Carlos Ruiz’s infield single with the bases loaded in the ninth gave the Phillies a 6-5 victory over the Florida Marlins on Friday night. Philadelphia (10-12) has won six of seven after a terrible start. Jimmy Rollins’ NL-leading ninth [...]

    Marlins 4, Braves 3 (AP)

Miguel Olivo scored on a passed ball to cap a four-run rally in the ninth inning against Tim Hudson and Bob Wickman, and the Florida Marlins beat the Atlanta Braves 4-3 Wednesday night. Hudson had a career-high 12 strikeouts and took a six-hit shutout into the ninth, but Miguel Cabrera, Cody Ross and Aaron Boone [...]

    Tuesday’s NL Capsules (AP)

Paul Maholm allowed three singles in his first career complete game and Pittsburgh avoided its longest home losing streak to start a season in 109 years, beating Houston 3-0 on Tuesday night. The Pirates, playing only their fifth home game, got their best-pitched game this season from Maholm (1-2), who hadn’t won since Sept.

    Braves 11, Marlins 6 (AP)

Four Atlanta relievers combined to pitch six shutout innings, and the Braves scored all of their runs with two out to beat the Florida Marlins 11-6 Tuesday. Peter Moylan (1-0) pitched three scoreless innings for his first major league win. Bob Wickman finished with a one-hit ninth and has yet to allow a run in [...]
